People are curious as to whether using a mesh Design.UX cover will effect the performance of their Fitbit Charge 2.

I took my Fitbit Charge 2 on a local Palm Desert hike called the Bump and Grind. On November 22 I did the hike with no cover on my Fitbit Charge 2. I used RunKeeper to track the hike. It took me 92 minutes to complete

I did the same hike with a mesh Fitbit Charge 2 cover (brown to match the desert) on November 28th. It took me 81 minutes to complete so I had a slightly faster pace.

Lets see if using a mesh cover changes makes any difference in Fitbit Charge 2 data tracking.

Hike 1 (no mesh cover)

  • Average Heart Rate 114 bpm
  • Calories Burned 1043
  • Steps 9622
  • Active minutes 93 (Runkeeper 92)

Hike 2 (mesh cover)

  • Average Heart Rate 114 bpm
  • Calories burned 916
  • Steps 8810
  • Active minutes 80 (Runkeeper 81)

So far, I'd be hard pressed to find any major differences in Fitbit Charge 2 performance when a Design.UX cover is being used.
